TL;DR: Your reviews hold your best marketing copy. Paste them into one Google Doc with names deleted and upload it to Gemini Notebook, Google's free tool (formerly NotebookLM). Ask 4 questions. In about 30 minutes you'll have customer phrases for your website, Google profile, phone script, and one competitor gap.
Your customers have been writing your marketing for years. They just put it in your reviews.
When someone writes "they showed up the same morning and told me the price before they touched anything," that's a headline. It's in their words, and it names the exact worry your next customer has.
This play pulls those lines out of every review you have, in one sitting, for $0.
Why your reviews are worth 30 minutes
Your reviews tell you 2 things in plain language: why people picked you, and what almost stopped them from calling.
That second part is gold for your phone script. If 6 different 5-star reviews mention "I was nervous about the cost," you know the question every new caller is quietly asking.
Reading 100 reviews by hand and keeping track of the patterns takes an evening. Gemini Notebook does it in seconds. It's Google's free research tool (Google renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook on Jul 16, 2026), and it answers only from what you upload. That keeps it close to your actual reviews and gives it little room to make things up.
The play: Mine your reviews in 30 minutes
Time: about 30 minutes
Cost: $0. A free Google account is all you need.
Step 1. Build your review doc (10 min).
Copy your most recent reviews from Google, Yelp, Facebook, and anywhere else customers leave them. Paste them all into one Google Doc. Delete every reviewer name. If you want to size up a rival too, put a top competitor's reviews in a second doc.
Step 2. Upload it (2 min).
Open Gemini Notebook, create a new notebook, and upload your doc. Put the competitor doc in its own separate notebook so the 2 never mix.
Step 3. Ask these 4 questions, one at a time (10 min).
What exact words do customers use to describe the problem they had before they called us?
What worries or objections show up, even in 5-star reviews?
What do customers praise most often? Quote them.
What services or extras do customers wish we offered?
Then run the first 2 questions on the competitor notebook. Pay attention to the complaints that repeat.
Step 4. Pick what you'll use (8 min).
Choose 4 customer phrases: 2 for your website headline and 2 for your Google Business Profile description. Then pick 1 objection to answer up front on your phone script, and 1 gap in the competitor's reviews you can fill. Gaps usually sound like "never called back" or "no price up front."
The free version covers this whole play. Paid Google tiers add capacity on top.
4 rules before you upload
Reviews are public, and you still remove the names. It takes 2 minutes and keeps your doc clean.
Health practices, go careful. For dental, med spa, chiro, and PT, reviews can mention treatments. Stick to public reviews with names removed. Keep patient emails, DMs, intake forms, and call recordings out of this tool entirely.
Competitor reviews are for spotting gaps only. Keep their customers' wording out of your marketing.
Use only phrases real customers wrote. If the AI hands you a polished "quote," find it in the original review before it goes anywhere public.
Leverage Math
LEVERAGE MATH: What 30 minutes of review mining gets you
What it costs
Money: $0 on the free tier
Tools: Google Docs and Gemini Notebook, both free
Time: about 30 minutes (our estimate, from the step timing above)
Room to spare: free notebooks allow up to 50 sources, and each source can hold 500,000 words. Your single review doc counts as 1 source.
What you walk away with
2 customer phrases for your website headline
2 customer phrases for your Google Business Profile description
1 objection to answer on your phone script
1 competitor gap you can claim
Your turn (fill this in after you run it)
Reviews you pasted in: ______
Best phrase for your headline: "______"
Objection you'll answer on the next call: ______
Competitor gap you can fill: ______
Here's my honest read.
Some of what comes back will feel obvious. You already know customers like that you're on time. The payoff is the exact wording, the way a real customer says it, which almost always beats what we'd write ourselves.
Check each phrase against the original review before you use it. And if you hit a usage limit partway through, wait a few hours. Google says free usage refreshes every 5 hours, up to a weekly cap it hasn't published.
This week
Block 30 minutes before Friday and run all 4 steps.
Then hit reply with the one phrase that surprised you most. I'll share the best ones (no names, no business details) in a future issue.
