TL;DR: Here are 5 add-ons for Claude Code. Here's how to install and undo each one from its own source, and what it can reach on your computer and accounts. We go in the order we suggest trying them. Setup takes about 2 hours.

Add-ons give Claude real access to your computer. Some drive a browser, and one can reuse your social media logins.

Step 1: Check What You Need and Where to Get It

What you need: Claude Code, a paid Claude plan (Pro or higher) or an Anthropic Console (API) account, Node.js, Chrome and your own website or small app.

Quick definition: An add-on is extra software that gives Claude Code new tools. It comes as a plugin (a bundle from a catalog) or an MCP server (a connector that hands Claude a new ability).

Install only from Anthropic's marketplace (/plugin in Claude Code) or the tool's own GitHub page, named below. The reel offers links by DM if you comment "TOOLS." We never got that DM, so we can't vouch for them.

Before each install, paste:

Before I install this add-on, read its GitHub page at [link] and tell me in plain English who maintains it, when it was last updated, what it can access on my computer, what it sends over the internet and any warnings in its README. Don't install anything.

Note: Add-ons run with your permissions. GitHub stars measure popularity only.

My default: you approve every install, and no customer data, patient details, passwords or business logins go near any add-on.

Step 2: Add Context7 for Current Docs

Context7, from Upstash, feeds Claude current docs for the code your site uses. GitHub shows about 64,000 stars as of Oct 30.

Quick definition: A library is a ready-made chunk of code your site borrows, like a payment form.

Click path

  1. Start Claude Code with claude in your project folder.

  2. Type /plugin install context7@claude-plugins-official and press Enter.

  3. Read the details pane.

  4. Choose Install for you (user scope).

Then paste:

Use Context7 to check the current docs for [a library my site uses, like Stripe] and tell me what in my site's code is out of date. Ask before you edit any file.

Undo: in /plugin, open the Installed tab, select context7 and choose Uninstall.

Note: Your questions go to Upstash's servers, so keep customer details out. Its docs come from the community, and Upstash can't guarantee they're accurate.

My default: the plugin with no account.

Step 3: Add Chrome DevTools for Agents to Test Your Site

Google's Chrome team makes Chrome DevTools for agents (chrome-devtools-mcp). It lets Claude open your site and read its errors.

Quick definition: A Chrome profile is a separate set of logins and history inside Chrome.

In your terminal, paste this as one line:

claude mcp add --scope user chrome-devtools -- npx -y chrome-devtools-mcp@latest --isolated --no-usage-statistics --no-performance-crux

What the extras do:

  1. --scope user covers all your projects.

  2. --isolated uses a blank Chrome profile, wiped on close.

  3. --no-usage-statistics turns off Google's default usage statistics.

  4. --no-performance-crux keeps speed tests from sending your page addresses to Google.

Run claude mcp list and look for chrome-devtools marked Connected. It also works in the desktop app's Code tab. The marketplace plugin can't take the opt-out, so I use the command.

Then paste:

Open my website at [my own site URL] in Chrome and list any console errors in plain English, with a suggested fix for each. Don't log in to anything. Ask me before changing any file.

Undo: run claude mcp remove --scope user chrome-devtools.

Note: Claude sees whatever this browser shows. Never sign in to your bank, email, payroll or customer systems there, and skip its auto-connect option, which hooks into your everyday Chrome.

My default: public pages and your own site only.

Step 4: Add Replica's 11 Skills for App Projects

Replica, from Jake Schincariol, is 11 skills that study an existing app and rebuild its features under your own brand.

Quick definition: A skill is a saved set of instructions Claude loads when a task calls for it.

Click path

  1. In Claude Code, type /plugin marketplace add Jakeschincariol/replica-skill and press Enter.

  2. Type /plugin install replica-skill@replica-skill and press Enter.

It needs Python 3.8 or newer. Then paste:

Run /replica-skill:replica-entrepreneur on [a public app in my industry] and tell me what its users complain about most, with a link for every quote. Don't build anything.

Undo: in /plugin, uninstall replica-skill and remove its marketplace.

Note: "Never its code, logo or text" is the tool's own wording, and it gives you no legal protection. Patents, trademarks, trade dress and a site's own terms can still apply. Replica's own README says to run trademark checks and talk to a lawyer. Check with your attorney before you sell anything modeled on someone else's product. Its promise that the skills never copy code comes from its author, and we haven't tested it.

My default: use it for review research, and build only ideas of your own.

Step 5: Preview REA Before You Approve It

REA ("Reverse Engineer Anything") is a one-developer tool for developers and security researchers.

Quick definition: Reverse engineering means taking finished software apart to see how it works inside.

Setup edits Claude's settings files and adds REA as an MCP server with browser control and terminal sessions, in every project. It runs with your full permissions. It needs a recent Node.js. Install it only from github.com/morluto/rea, whose README warns that copies exist.

Click path

  1. Fully quit the Claude desktop app first.

  2. Preview with npx rea-agents setup --client claude_code --dry-run. Nothing is written. Read which files it lists.

  3. Run npx rea-agents setup, pick Claude Code, read the plan and approve. It backs up the files it changes.

  4. Restart Claude Code.

Then paste:

Use REA to look at my own website at [my site URL] and explain in plain English how the booking form works. Only analyze sites I own. Ask before running any command.

Undo: run rea uninstall. If that isn't found, run claude mcp remove --scope user rea and delete the reverse-engineer-anything folder in ~/.claude/skills.

Note: Its own disclaimer says reverse engineering may be restricted by law or by the software's license. Use it only on apps and sites you own or may examine.

My default: preview first, and use its docs' separate-profile option (CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR) so your everyday sessions never load it.

Step 6: Run Agent Reach With No Logins or a Throwaway Account

Agent Reach, a one-developer project, lets Claude read public sites like GitHub and YouTube, plus X, Reddit and more with a login.

Quick definition: A login cookie is the small file that keeps you signed in to a site.

Install only from github.com/Panniantong/Agent-Reach. A PyPI package also named agent-reach is a different project, and its README warns against it.

If you don't have uv, Astral's installer, run curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh first.

Click path (Mac or Linux terminal)

  1. uv tool install https://github.com/Panniantong/Agent-Reach/releases/latest/download/agent-reach.zip

  2. agent-reach setup turns on the no-login channels and adds its skill to Claude and other Ai tools it finds.

Then paste:

Use Agent Reach to search YouTube and GitHub for [topic] and summarize the top results with links. Don't use any logged-in account.

Undo: agent-reach uninstall --dry-run shows what goes. Then run agent-reach uninstall and uv tool uninstall agent-reach.

Note: For login channels, it copies that site's login cookie from your Chrome when Chrome is connected to its OpenCLI extension. Its README says that's usually your main account. X's and Reddit's own terms bar automated access or scraping without their written permission, outside their official interfaces. YouTube's terms bar automated access, such as scrapers, without its written permission, logged in or not. Agent Reach reads YouTube with the open-source tool yt-dlp, not YouTube's official API. On login channels, you could lose the account. Its claim that it never reads passwords is its own, and we haven't tested it.

The reel's "zero API fees" claim holds only because the tool rides on your logged-in accounts and free public pages.

Safer ways to run it:

  • Stay on the no-login channels.

  • Never connect your everyday Chrome to its OpenCLI extension.

  • Sign in to a throwaway account in its own window with agent-reach login plus the channel name.

  • Or use a separate Chrome profile signed in only to that throwaway.

My default: no-login channels only. Your business and personal accounts never touch it.

Step 7: Review and Remove Add-Ons Once a Month

  1. Type /plugin and open the Installed tab.

  2. Run claude mcp list to see every MCP server.

  3. Run claude mcp remove plus a name to drop one.

  4. For REA and Agent Reach, use their undo lines.

Then paste:

List every plugin, skill, hook and MCP server I have in Claude Code and which ones I haven't used lately. Remove nothing until I say yes.

My default: first Monday of the month, 15 minutes.

Start Here This Week

  • Day 1: run the Step 1 check on Context7, then install it.

  • Day 2: add Chrome DevTools and check 1 public page.

  • Day 3: try Replica's review research on 1 public app.

  • Next week: REA and Agent Reach, only if you have a real use.

LEVERAGE MATH: What 5 add-ons take

What it takes (our estimates)

  • Step 1, checking 5 tools: 25 minutes

  • Steps 2 and 3, Context7 plus Chrome DevTools: 30 minutes

  • Step 4, Replica: 15 minutes

  • Step 5, REA preview and setup: 20 minutes

  • Step 6, Agent Reach: 25 minutes

  • Step 7, first review: 10 minutes

  • Total setup: about 2 hours

  • Every month after: about 15 minutes

What to expect

  • REA writes nothing until you approve its plan, per its docs

  • Chrome DevTools sends usage statistics until you opt out, per the Chrome team

Your turn (week 1, then week 4)

  • Add-ons checked before install: ____

  • Add-ons installed: ____

  • Site errors found and fixed: ____

  • Add-ons removed at your monthly review: ____

Here's my honest read.

Context7 and Chrome DevTools pay off fast if you build or fix your own site. Replica's review research helps before you build anything.

REA and Agent Reach reach furthest into your computer and accounts. Go slow with both.

Claude drafts and suggests. You approve every install and every change.

Disclosure: I'm not paid by Anthropic, Upstash, Google or any tool maker named here to write this.
